About Jacinthe Koddo
From Interior Designer to CFO Advisor, I've lived the journey you're on. I know what it's like to build a creative business, face the financial learning curve, and figure out how to make it all work—because I've been there myself.
After starting my career in interior design, I took an unexpected turn into entrepreneurship in 2009. Six businesses, four failures, and countless sleepless nights later (read the full story here), I discovered my true passion: helping other creative business owners build something valuable, not just buy themselves a job.
Why I Do This Work
Every day, I talk to talented creative business owners who tell me:
"I can't tell if I'm actually making money or just busy"
"I'm not sure if I can afford to hire"
"I want to step back, but I don't know if the numbers work"
Sound familiar? I get it. Nobody taught us the financial side of running a business in design school. That's why I've dedicated my work to being the guide I wish I'd had—someone who speaks both languages (creative and financial) and can translate complex numbers into clear decisions.
How I Help
I work with creative business owners making under $10M to help them:
Know exactly how much they can pay themselves
Make confident decisions about hiring and growth
Build real business value while maintaining creative excellence
Get solid financial systems that let them sleep at night
My clients typically see transformative results, from establishing 3-6 months of cash reserves to significantly boosting how much they can pay themselves. But what matters most is the confidence they gain in running their business.
A Few More Things About Me
When I'm not helping creative business owners master their numbers, you might find me:
Playing with my cat Olive (who makes regular appearances in video calls)
Learning Brazilian Portuguese (with dreams of spending several months a year there)
Exploring my hometown of Calgary after recently moving back
Working on growing my own businesses—because I practice what I teach
My Journey
Started as an interior designer (yes, I have the degree to prove it!)
Launched my first business in 2009 (a meal delivery service before they were trendy)
Took a deep dive into accounting and finance in 2018
Now advising creative firms across interior design, marketing, PR, and architecture
Let's Build Something Valuable
If you're ready to move from "I'm not a numbers person" to feeling confident about your business finances, let's talk. I help translate complex numbers into clear decisions, so you can build a business that works for you—not the other way around.
